quire
Two dozen pages
A quire is a set of paper sheets folded together, traditionally 24 or 25 sheets.
The term comes from medieval bookmaking, where quires were gathered and bound to form manuscripts or books.
In modern use, quire appears mainly in printing and stationery contexts: a quire of writing paper.
Separately, quire is an archaic spelling of choir.
