cubit

Ancient body measure

A cubit is an ancient unit of length based on the distance from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger—roughly 18 inches or 45 centimeters.

The measurement appears frequently in biblical texts: The ark shall be three hundred cubits long.

Noah's ark and Solomon's temple are specified in cubits.
