Cheap publishing paper
Newsprint is the cheap, uncoated paper used for printing newspapers—lightweight, grayish, and designed for high-speed printing rather than durability.
The paper yellows and becomes brittle with age.
By extension, newsprint can refer to newspapers collectively or the ink that rubs off on your fingers: I got newsprint all over my hands.
