radio telescope

Space signal catcher

A radio telescope is an instrument that detects radio waves from space rather than visible light.

Unlike optical telescopes, radio telescopes use large dish antennas or arrays of antennas to collect faint signals from distant celestial objects—pulsars, quasars, galaxies, and other cosmic sources.

The radio telescope picked up signals from a galaxy twelve billion light-years away.
