radial saw

Arm-mounted blade tool

A radial saw is a power saw mounted on a sliding horizontal arm that moves across the workpiece.

The circular blade pulls toward the operator, cutting wood, metal, or plastic laid flat on the table below.

Unlike table saws where material moves through the blade, radial saws keep the workpiece stationary—useful for crosscutting long boards.

Also called a radial arm saw.
