coping saw
Intricate woodwork blade
A coping saw is a hand tool with a thin, narrow blade held taut in a U-shaped frame, designed for cutting intricate curves and shapes in wood.
The blade can be rotated within the frame, allowing the user to navigate tight corners and complex patterns.
It gets its name from its use in cutting copes—the curved joints where molding meets at inside corners.
She used a coping saw to cut the scrollwork for the decorative shelf brackets.
