porterhouse

Thick beef steak

A porterhouse is a thick cut of beef steak containing both the tenderloin and the strip, separated by a T-shaped bone.

It differs from a T-bone only in having a larger portion of tenderloin: We split a porterhouse for two.

Porterhouse also refers to a pub or chophouse that serves porter and other drinks alongside food, though this sense is now rare.
