porterhouse steak
T-bone's bigger sibling
A porterhouse steak is a thick cut of beef containing both a strip steak and a tenderloin filet separated by a T-shaped bone.
It's essentially a larger version of a T-bone, with a more generous portion of the tenderloin.
The cut comes from the rear of the short loin and is prized for offering two distinct textures in one steak: We split a porterhouse at the steakhouse.
