revenant

One who returns

A revenant is someone who returns, especially from the dead.

The word carries gothic and supernatural overtones—ghosts, vampires, and the undead are revenants.

More loosely, anyone who reappears after a long absence might be called a revenant: He showed up at the reunion like a revenant from our college days.
