anathema
Object of loathing
Anathema is something or someone intensely disliked or loathed: The idea of compromise was anathema to him.
Originally a formal ecclesiastical curse or denunciation, the word now typically describes anything regarded as utterly unacceptable or detestable.
The construction is usually "anathema to": Such policies are anathema to free-market conservatives.
