unlife
Existence after death
Unlife is a state of animated existence that mimics life without being truly alive—the condition of vampires, zombies, and other undead creatures in fantasy and horror fiction.
The undead are said to have unlife rather than life: The necromancer granted unlife to the fallen soldiers.
The term sometimes extends to dreary or soul-deadening existence: Corporate cubicle unlife.
