mudskippers

Land-traversing fish

Mudskippers are small fish that can survive out of water for extended periods, using their pectoral fins to crawl across mud flats and even climb rocks or mangrove roots.

Found in tropical and subtropical coastal regions, they breathe through their skin and gill chambers when on land.

Mudskippers were flopping around the tidal pools at low tide.
