harbor seals
Spotted marine mammals
Harbor seals are small, spotted seals found along temperate and Arctic coastlines of the Northern Hemisphere.
They haul out on rocks, beaches, and sandbars, often near harbors and estuaries—hence the name.
Gray or brown with dark spots, they're among the most commonly seen marine mammals along North American and European coasts.
