brackish

Salty but diluted

Brackish describes water that is slightly salty, particularly where freshwater and seawater mix, as in estuaries, tidal rivers, and coastal marshes.

The brackish waters of the bay supported unique species adapted to the varying salinity.

By extension, brackish can describe anything with an unpleasantly salty or briny taste, or figuratively, something distasteful or off-putting.
