molds
Fungi or forms
Molds are hollow forms that shape liquid or soft material as it hardens: a candle mold, a gelatin mold.
The resulting object is also a mold.
To mold is to shape something, literally or figuratively: She molded the clay, experiences that mold character.
Separately, mold is the fuzzy fungal growth on damp or decaying matter: There's mold on this bread.
To mold in this sense is to become moldy.
