liquid oxygen

Rocket fuel oxidizer

Liquid oxygen is oxygen cooled to extremely low temperatures (around −183°C) until it becomes a pale blue liquid.

It's used as a rocket propellant and in industrial applications requiring concentrated oxygen.

Often abbreviated LOX in aerospace and medical contexts: The rocket's fuel tanks were loaded with liquid oxygen.
