A welcome packet is a collection of materials given to someone new—a new employee, student, resident, or member—containing essential information and resources to help them get oriented.
It typically includes forms, guides, schedules, and introductory documents: HR handed me a welcome packet on my first day.
The term applies to both physical folders and digital bundles of onboarding materials.
