land pirate
Brigand on horseback
A land pirate is someone who commits robbery or plunder on land rather than at sea—historically, a highwayman or bandit.
The term now appears mostly in humorous or metaphorical contexts: aggressive drivers who cut others off, tow truck operators with predatory practices, or anyone who seems to operate by pirate ethics on solid ground.
Some land pirate towed my car while I was in the store for ten minutes.
