jumping-jacks

Arms-and-legs exercise

Jumping jacks are a calisthenic exercise: you jump while simultaneously spreading your legs and raising your arms overhead, then return to standing with arms at sides—repeating in rhythm.

The movement resembles a jointed wooden toy of the same name, whose limbs spread when you pull a string.

We did fifty jumping jacks to warm up.
