cooldown
Post-exertion wind-down
A cooldown is a period of reduced activity after exertion—light stretching after a workout, easy jogging after a sprint.
In gaming, cooldown is the waiting period before a skill or ability can be used again: The spell has a thirty-second cooldown.
More broadly, any enforced pause before something can happen again: There's a cooldown between login attempts.
