fermenter
Yeast culture container
A fermenter is a vessel in which fermentation occurs—where microorganisms like yeast or bacteria convert sugars into alcohol, acids, or gases.
The term applies across scales: from a homebrewer's carboy to industrial tanks producing beer, wine, or biofuels.
Also spelled fermentor.
A fermenter can also be a person who ferments things: an avid fermenter of kimchi and kombucha.
