posting

Publishing something online

Posting is placing something where others will see it—a notice on a bulletin board, content on social media, a message to an online forum.

A posting is also a job assignment, especially to a distant location: She received a posting to the embassy in Berlin.

In accounting, posting means recording transactions to a ledger.
