subentry
Item within item
A subentry is an entry nested within a larger entry, typically in dictionaries or encyclopedias.
Where a main entry covers a root word, subentries handle derivatives, compounds, or related terms: The subentry for "runner-up" appeared under "run".
The term applies similarly to indexes and databases where items are grouped hierarchically.
