tournament brackets
Competition pairing diagrams
Tournament brackets are diagrams showing the structure of an elimination competition, where winners advance through rounds until a single champion remains.
The branching shape resembles typographical brackets.
Filling out brackets—predicting outcomes before a tournament begins—is a popular form of sports gambling, especially during March Madness: My bracket was busted after the first upset.
