precordial
Anterior to heart
Precordial refers to the area of the chest wall overlying the heart.
The term appears almost exclusively in medical contexts: a precordial thump is a sharp blow to the sternum attempted during cardiac arrest, and precordial leads are electrocardiogram electrodes placed on the chest.
The doctor noted precordial tenderness during examination.
