pore
Tiny skin hole
A pore is a tiny opening in a surface, especially the minute holes in skin through which sweat passes: clogged pores, open pores.
Plants have pores for gas exchange; rocks and membranes have pores that allow passage of fluids.
The verb pore means to study intently: She pored over the documents for hours.
The verb is almost always followed by "over."
