leather
Material from hides
Leather is animal hide that has been treated to make it durable and flexible.
It's used for shoes, belts, bags, jackets, and furniture upholstery.
As an adjective, leather describes things made from or resembling the material: leather boots, a leather-bound book.
In gay slang, leather refers to a subculture associated with BDSM and distinctive clothing: the leather scene, a leather bar.
