elasticities

Measures of responsiveness

Elasticities is the plural of elasticity, which refers to the ability to stretch and return to original form, or more abstractly, flexibility and adaptability.

In economics, elasticity measures how much one variable responds to changes in another—most commonly how demand changes when price changes.

Price elasticities vary widely across products.

The elasticities of supply and demand determine market outcomes.
