digit
Toe, for instance
A digit is a finger or toe—humans have twenty digits total.
Because we count on our fingers, digit also means any numeral from 0 through 9: a four-digit PIN, the last four digits of your phone number.
The digital age takes its name from the discrete digits that encode all computer data.
