angstrom

Atomic distance unit

An angstrom is a unit of length equal to one ten-billionth of a meter, used primarily to measure atomic and molecular distances, wavelengths of light, and chemical bond lengths.

The symbol is Å.

At this scale, a hydrogen atom measures about one angstrom in diameter, and visible light has wavelengths between 4,000 and 7,000 angstroms.
