temples
Worship sites sometimes
Temples has two distinct sources.
The plural of temple as a place of worship—a building dedicated to religious practice, from grand ancient structures to modest neighborhood synagogues: Buddhist temples, Mormon temples.
Separately, the temples are the flat areas on either side of the forehead, between the eye and ear: graying at the temples, a vein throbbing in his temple.
