colliders
Subatomic crash facilities
Colliders are things that collide or are designed to collide.
In physics, a particle collider accelerates subatomic particles to extreme speeds and smashes them together, allowing scientists to study fundamental forces and discover new particles: The Large Hadron Collider confirmed the existence of the Higgs boson.
In video game development and 3D software, colliders are invisible boundaries that detect when objects touch or overlap, enabling physics simulations and triggering events: The character's collider wasn't set up right, so they kept falling through the floor.
