vomitorium

Crowd dispersal tunnel

A vomitorium is a passage in an ancient Roman amphitheater or stadium through which crowds could exit rapidly—the building "vomiting" spectators out after events.

The word is often mistakenly thought to refer to a room where Romans went to vomit during feasts, but this is a popular misconception with no historical basis.
