chirashi
Sushi bowl style
Chirashi is a Japanese dish of sushi rice topped with an assortment of raw fish and other ingredients, served in a bowl rather than formed into individual pieces.
The name means "scattered" in Japanese, describing how the toppings are arranged.
Unlike nigiri or rolls, chirashi offers variety without the formality: I ordered the chirashi bowl—it had salmon, tuna, and yellowtail over rice.
