topped

Put icing on

Topped describes something with a covering, addition, or finishing element on its surface: a sundae topped with whipped cream, mountains topped with snow.

It also means surpassed or exceeded: Last year's sales figures can't be topped.

In British slang, to top oneself is to commit suicide, making topped a past tense for that grim act.
