fish and chips
Pub grub classic
Fish and chips is a British dish of battered, deep-fried fish served with thick-cut fried potatoes.
Traditionally wrapped in newspaper and eaten with salt and malt vinegar, it became a working-class staple in England by the late 1800s.
The fish is usually cod or haddock.
We stopped at a chippy for fish and chips.
