Seaweed-wrapped rice
Maki is a type of sushi where rice and fillings are rolled in seaweed (nori), then sliced into bite-sized pieces.
The fillings vary—fish, vegetables, avocado—and the roll may be inside-out with rice on the exterior.
We ordered a salmon maki and a spicy tuna roll.
Short for makizushi.
