temaki
Seaweed-wrapped fish cone
Temaki is a style of sushi consisting of a cone-shaped piece of nori (seaweed) wrapped around rice and various fillings such as raw fish, vegetables, or roe.
The cone shape distinguishes it from other sushi forms and makes it easy to eat by hand.
Unlike rolls that are sliced into pieces, temaki is meant to be eaten whole and soon after preparation, before the nori loses its crispness.
I ordered a spicy tuna temaki from the sushi bar.
