caller
One who rings
A caller is someone who calls.
In its oldest sense, a caller shouts or cries out—a square dance caller announces the moves.
A caller may be someone who visits: We had callers this afternoon.
Most commonly now, a caller is someone on the telephone: We have a caller on line two.
In computing, a caller is code that invokes a function or subroutine.
