bobsled

Steered winter sled

A bobsled is a racing sled with runners, a steering mechanism, and brakes, used to hurtle down an ice-covered track.

Teams of two or four push the sled at the start, then jump in and navigate banked curves at high speeds.

The sport features in the Winter Olympics.

Also called bobsleigh, especially in British English.
