saucer sled
Round winter slider
A saucer sled is a round, shallow disc used for sliding down snowy hills.
Unlike traditional sleds with runners, the saucer's shape allows it to spin freely as it descends, making steering difficult but adding to the thrill.
Usually made of plastic or metal, saucer sleds are simple, inexpensive, and popular with children: We grabbed the saucer sled and headed for the big hill.
