Boat-pulled gliding
Water skiing is gliding over water on skis while being towed by a motorboat, holding a rope handle.
The skier stands upright, knees slightly bent, as the boat pulls them across the surface: We went water skiing at the lake every summer.
The activity requires enough speed to keep the skier planing on top of the water rather than sinking.
