apparatchiks
Political machine functionaries
Apparatchiks is the plural of apparatchik, a member of a political organization who follows orders without question—originally applied to Soviet Communist Party functionaries.
The word carries connotations of blind loyalty to bureaucracy and ideology over independent thought: The policy was crafted by party apparatchiks with no real-world experience.
Now used more broadly for any unthinking organizational loyalist.
