adventurer
Seeker of thrills
An adventurer is someone who seeks out exciting or risky experiences, often involving travel to unfamiliar places: The adventurers set off into uncharted jungle.
The word can carry romantic connotations of boldness and discovery, but historically it also meant someone who lives by their wits—a fortune hunter or schemer willing to take chances for personal gain.
In gaming, adventurer is the standard term for a player character who explores dungeons and completes quests.
