Trinidadians
Port-of-Spain residents
Trinidadians are people from Trinidad, the larger of the two islands that make up the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago.
The term covers both citizens and those of Trinidadian descent: Trinidadians in New York celebrate Carnival with as much fervor as back home.
The culture blends African, Indian, European, and Chinese influences, producing distinctive music (calypso, soca, steelpan), cuisine, and the famous pre-Lenten Carnival.
