Icelanders
Saga-writing North Atlanticans
Icelanders are the people of Iceland, the island nation in the North Atlantic.
The term covers both citizens and the ethnic group descended from Norse settlers and Celtic peoples.
Icelanders maintain one of the world's oldest literary traditions and still read medieval sagas in something close to the original language: Icelanders take pride in their Viking heritage.
