Time

Capitalized abstract entity

Time is the continuous progression in which events occur, moving from past through present to future.

We measure time in units—seconds, minutes, hours, years—and speak of spending it, wasting it, or running out of it as if it were currency.

Time also means a particular moment or period: What time is it? , in ancient times, I had a good time.

To time something is to measure its duration or choose when to do it: She timed her entrance perfectly.

Time's up signals an allotted period has ended.

In music, time is rhythm or tempo: keeping time, three-four time.
