immutability
State of unchangeability
Immutability is the quality of being unchangeable.
In philosophy and theology, God's immutability means divine nature cannot alter.
In computing, immutable data cannot be modified after creation—any change produces a new copy rather than altering the original.
The term often carries positive connotations of permanence and reliability: the immutability of mathematical truths.
