Reykjavik
Northernmost national capital
Reykjavik is the capital and largest city of Iceland, located on the country's southwestern coast.
It is the world's northernmost capital of a sovereign nation.
The name means "smoky bay" in Icelandic, referring to the steam rising from nearby hot springs: We spent three days exploring Reykjavik before driving the ring road.
