renewable energy
Sun and wind
Renewable energy is power derived from sources that replenish naturally—sunlight, wind, water, geothermal heat.
Unlike fossil fuels, these sources don't deplete with use: The country aims to get half its electricity from renewable energy by 2030.
The term often appears in discussions of climate policy and reducing carbon emissions.
Also called renewables or clean energy.
